Oscilloscope seems to be auto-centering smaller images

So this is a noob oscilloscope question most likely, sorry.
The oscilloscope I borrowed works fine for images/animations that kinda fill most of the screen. But when I use e.g. OsciStudio’s “Trace” with LFO, it seems to try to auto-center the smaller parts of the image, which destroys the animation (but can look cool in some occasions).
I tried every setting on this old tube oscilloscope, but nothing seems to change that… maybe I just need to use another device.

Does anybody know this issue?

yea, it’s THE classic.

in 1% of the cases you have your oscilloscope’s inputs set to AC (there’s usually two switches with AC/GND/DC, set them to DC).

but in 99% of the cases it means your audio output is AC coupled, and you will need a audio interface that is DC coupled.

thank you so much, yeah - that has been the problem. I used the onboard audio-output from my PC - and now switched to my external sound interface - and the problem is gone!

I also can’t use my audio mixer, because it’s also AC coupled. I try to get a DC coupled mixer now.
(I want to record the sound on other devices like cassette recorders and then mix it together to generate visuals)
