OsciStudio Version: A7
Operating System: Windows 10
Hi, I recently bought oscistudio and installed it, but when I try to boot it up, it flashes a white screen before closing. The oscilloscope sim boots and works just fine. How could I fix this?
thanks!
Oscistudio startup issue
hi!
do you have any info for me?
if you are comfortable using the cmd.exe, do you get any output when you launch oscistudio from the command line?
alternatively, you could try launching oscistudio as admin and see if that changes anything (normally it shouldn’t be needed)
well, any screen video or similar would help!
(I got frustrated with screen recording, so I took a camera video.)

. This is what it looks like with CMD launch (ignore my failed attempts) and with admin launch.
And this is the event viewer error log:
Windows cannot access the file for one of the following reasons: there is a problem with the network connection, the disk that the file is stored on, or the storage drivers installed on this computer; or the disk is missing. Windows closed the program OsciStudio because of this error.

The error value is listed in the Additional Data section.
User Action
- Open the file again. This situation might be a temporary problem that corrects itself when the program runs again.
- If the file still cannot be accessed and
- It is on the network, your network administrator should verify that there is not a problem with the network and that the server can be contacted.
- It is on a removable disk, for example, a floppy disk or CD-ROM, verify that the disk is fully inserted into the computer.
- Check and repair the file system by running CHKDSK. To run CHKDSK, click Start, click Run, type CMD, and then click OK. At the command prompt, type CHKDSK /F, and then press ENTER.
- If the problem persists, restore the file from a backup copy.
- Determine whether other files on the same disk can be opened. If not, the disk might be damaged. If it is a hard disk, contact your administrator or computer hardware vendor for further assistance.

Let me know if you need more info!
hi!
ok, that’s the right direction. and phone video is just fine!
can you try these:
- start a cmd.exe
cd "c:\program files\OsciStudio\app"
- just type
OsciStudio.exe
(without the START) - repeat 1-3, but launch cmd.exe as admin
Here’s the result of both, https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ijOUOh6k1HvMBE6Qg_Wx5qmVFXZYAsn8/view?usp=sharing
uh, i also can’t see anything here. i’m slightly puzzled what’s going on. maybe, to try the basics… is it possible that you have some funky audio drivers (like virtual devices that don’t really work anymore). also, please make sure your graphics card drivers are up to date. does that change anything?
i can bundle you an installer of the next oscistudio version, which i’m planning to release “soon” anyways since quite a while.
Updated GPU to drivers made this August, and tried disabling nearly all of my audio devices, digital or not, but the result is the same. I would be willing to try the new version and see if the issue persists!
