Question about the Laser From Sound VST
Hi hal9001 I am not seeing that you downloaded the M4L device that I mentioned… are you referencing the procedure for making the VST show up when you say it does not work?
Good morning, sorry i was busy but now i downloaded the m4l device and will test it later today. Does it replace the laser tool? I mean can i control laser with that too? I bought and hope i can get a refund for the other one i bought before, but first i will test this later.
Best regards Manfred
PS: I just tested it now. It runs on all my machines and looks very cool. But it has no option to control something outside right?
Hi, I hope you enjoy using the Max for Live device. As I mentioned in my initial response to your post, the device does not output to the Helios LaserDAC but it does allow you to go full screen to send to a projector. I have used both my own M4L device and the LaserFromSound VST at the same time to create a nice layered effect with a projector and a laser on top of each other. Let me know if you have any questions- and also curious about how the M4L device performs for you. I have also created another Max4Live device that simplifies connecting to a laser through multichannel sound hardware. I use a MOTU Ultralite Mk3 Hybrid, but it should also work with others?
Hello dfodel and thank you very much for the hint. The m4l is very good for my stuff. Fullscreen to another monitor or video output. Thats great. On my machines i have these interfaces. Roland Duo Capture Ex and the M Audio 192/6 with the other m34l device. Is it possible to use that with lasers or something like that?
And what is the name of this other m4l device?
Best regards hal9000
You can find the other M4L device here: https://dfodel.gumroad.com/l/cowdg
I include additional information about how to build a break-out box for the ILDA connection. What laser are you using?
Not really sure why the LaserfromSound VST is not working for you, but if you want to go this route you will need that break-out box, which you can build yourself, or you can contact me directly and I can build it for you.
Hello and thank you very much. at the moment i dont have a laser but i am looking forward to this stuff. I have a friend who is good in building such stuff. I will ask him if he can do some stuff for me. What would be your cheap advice for me as a laser that works with that box?
Best regards
